Memphis Grizzlies NBA 2015 trade news, rumors: Marc Gasol Pursued by 4 teams

Marc Gasol is widely believed to be staying with the Memphis Grizzlies but just the same, four teams will try to dangle him an offer with hopes of trying to convince him to jump ship.

The four teams that are currently whipping up proposals for the Spanish player are the Los Angeles Lakers, the San Antonio Spurs, the New York Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks. Gasol is expected to hit free agency on July 1, 2015.

For now, there is no indication that Gasol wants out of Memphis. To his credit, Gasol is a complete package who can score, pass, rebound and defend. He has the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 and is the younger brother of Pau Gasol of the Chicago Bulls.

It is actually no surprise to see the attention that the 7-foot-1 Spaniard is getting. The Grizzlies now it but are in the best position to offer Gasol a lucrative contract if that is indeed his interest.

Gasol however seems content with the Grizzlies thus far despite falling short yet again this season. Paired with Zach Randolph and Mike Conley, the Grizzlies are competitive and may just need a player or two to rank them up with the contenders.

For the suitors, it shouldn't be surprising if they aren't expecting anything favorable. The pitches are considered as a trial after which they will just have to wait-and-see.

The Spurs are looking for someone to succeed Tim Duncan. Aside from Gasol, they seem to be more bent on acquiring LaMarcus Aldridge. The Knicks are in need of someone to man the paint while the Lakers and the Mavs seem to be long shots.

For the Lakers, everyone knows what Pau Gasol went through and surely Marc has kept tabs of that. For the Mavericks, there is no word on what kind of deal they would be offering the Spaniard though they have a history of offering short-term contracts.

Try as they may, there is no inclination of a Gasol departure from Memphis. Then again, surprises could happen.
