Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight news: Floyd looking to rekindle an old intersection

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a 2-1 favorite and most critics believe he holds the edge in almost all departments against Filipino challenger Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines. So would it be safe to say that Mayweather has the fight in the bag? Not entirely.

Undefeated and dominant as Mayweather is, he cannot afford to make one measly mistake against the speed-punching boxer from the Philippines. As before, his defensive mastery will be put to the test as he tries to see what Pacquiao carries to the ring once both iconic fighters face off on May 2, 2015 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Despite being the favorite, Mayweather seems to be looking for something more than just a victory. He wants to somehow figure what makes Pacquiao tick and then use that strength against him.

At the end of it all, it is all about looking good and winning it all through a masterful analysis on what makes his opponent (Pacquiao) tick. And that triumph alone should make everything entirely sweeter, not only at that moment but for perhaps centuries.

So how does he intend to go about it? Like in a previous post, it is all about going back to how he came to be. Hence, it somehow explains that Rocky-style wood chopping video he posted on Instagram. To sum it all up, Floyd just wanted to go back to where it all started.

According to Mayweather, such was the advice given to him by his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr. In the event that he does end up facing Manny Pacquiao.

Floyd Jr. knows what Pacquiao is capable of doing and though he may be confident he can break down the Pacquiao riddle, it remains that he cannot take the Filipino pride for granted.

But Mayweather did address how reckless Pacquiao could be, perhaps referring to that knockout he had suffered from Juan Manuel Marquez indirectly.

If Pacquiao does become reckless against Mayweather, such is expected to be costly. In fact, it could be the end of it all.

This is not to hint that a knockout opening for Mayweather. Rather it could be a sign of desperation to which Mayweather may be found grinning since he knows he has the fight practically in the bag.
