'Mass Effect Andromeda' news: latest screenshots show off game's new worlds

 Bioware

New screens from "Mass Effect Andromeda" have arrived and they prove that the much-awaited game will be a thing of beauty. There are zero details as to where this all-new space mission will take players but these gorgeous screens show what it could look like.

The first image of the bunch shows what it is believed to be a massive cavern of some sort that proves that game studio Bioware is going for exotic and intriguing, enough to have gamers curious enough to explore the world before them.

Another "Mass Effect Andromeda" image shows a completely different setting that is made to look all smoggy and rocky. There are what look like brushed mounds sitting underneath a crystal-clear body of water. In the distance, gamers can see nearby planets and stars.

The third and final image is of a large spaceship that appears to have crashed on a planet resembling planet Mars primarily for its reddish color. A lot of black smoke emanates from the craft while another much, much smaller type of vehicle sits in close proximity.

If anything, Bioware hasn't been generous in giving away gameplay info for "Mass Effect Andromeda." The only points established are that the Mako will be far more serviceable in the upcoming game and that another is taking the mantle from Commander Shepard.

During the N7 Day, a teaser for the much-awaited space video game was shown. It features the voice of Jennifer Hale as the commander that guided gamers through the journeys from the "Mass Effect" trilogy as she, for the last time, restates how mankind is an innate explorer.

"You are that explorer now," Shepard said. "We will say goodbye and we will look back one last time and know that wherever you go, we will be with you," she can be heard saying in the trailer.

"Mass Effect Andromeda" will be out December 2016.
