Martin Smith's second solo album lands October 1 [VIDEO]

Martin Smith will be releasing his second solo album, God's great Dance Floor, Step 02, on October 1.

The album features a duet with Sarah Bird and songs co-written with Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, Chris Tomlin, Reuben Morgan and Michael W Smith.

The former Delirious? frontman is releasing the album via his independent label, Gloworks in partnership with Fuel Music Distribution.

It comes on the back of the huge success of his first solo album, God's Great Dance Floor, Step 01, which topped the iTunes Christian & Gospel chart.

Bird duets with Smith on the track, "God is Coming", while vocals from his daughter Elle-Anna appear on the track, "God's Great Dance Floor", co-written with Tomlin.

The opening track, "You Are My Salvation", was co-written with Morgan and is also the first song from the album to be released to video.

Collectively, Step 02 offers personal revival songs rich with biblical context and a welcoming invitation to prodigals and faithful alike to receive the grace of God that is for everyone.

"Thanks to all of you who have been so encouraging about Step 01. I had no idea how it would be received, but I was pleased to see people getting out on God's dance floor again," says Martin.

"When I started writing again, I had no plan to release the songs or record an album. It's been a new adventure since Delirious?, and I am encouraged that these new songs have connected with so many of you…I'm honoured that so many are interested enough to be a part of this journey."

Taking these new songs, hits from Step 1 and Delirious? fan favourites on the road, Smith will be hitting six countries in Europe with Matt Redman in October and 10 cities in the UK with Leeland in November.

Smith is up for two Dove Award nominations as a solo artist, one for his Spanish album, Dia De Redencion (Day of Redemption), in the Spanish Language Album of the Year category, and Jesus Culture With Martin Smith: Live From New York, recorded with Jesus Culture, for Special Event Album of the Year.

The 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards show will take place this year on October 15 in Nashville, Tennessee.
