When "Mario Kart 8" arrives on the Nintendo Switch, it will have a lot of new content to offer players who owned it on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

According to reliable tipster Emily Rogers, the version of the game coming to the next-generation console will boast brand new tracks and playable characters.

More importantly, Nintendo is also revamping the universally despised and unpopular Battle Mode of "Mario Kart 8" for the Nintendo Switch, which gamers will definitely be excited about.

Fans were not, in the slightest, impressed with the original Battle Mode in the game, which featured standard tracks from the base game instead of unique arenas specifically made for the mode.

Fans and critics alike would agree that "Mario Kart 8" will be deemed perfect if it was the other way around. Since the Nintendo Switch version will rectify this, it might just be the "Mario Kart" game fans have been longing for.

Critics felt like the Battle Mode was a last minute addition to the game and that it was put there just so Nintendo can say that the kart racing game has a Battle Mode.

Chris Carter of Destructoid described the "lackluster" Battle Mode in "Mario Kart 8" for the Wii U as a "massive disappointment," while players on the IGN forums said that it was the only "bad part" of the game.

That being said, the "Mario Kart 8" game coming to Nintendo Switch is already promising. Rogers also reports that the characters and tracks from the Wii U as well as the downloadable content (DLC) released there will also be in the Switch version.

As far as the release date goes, the tech insider said that development for "Mario Kart 8" is already complete, and the game should be out and about "within the first three months of Switch's launch."
