Mariah Carey burglary news: Estimated $50,000 worth of stolen items

American singer Mariah Carey's home in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, has been reportedly robbed. The items that were stolen from her are estimated to be around $50,000. The identity of the thieves are still being investigated by the local authorities.

In a report by Entertainment Tonight, a representative of the Los Angeles Police Department stated that the ransacking of Carey's home took place on Oct. 18, Thursday, between late at night until early in the morning of Oct. 19. The authorities were reluctant in confirming whose house was robbed, but given that the news is now widespread, it is already safe to assume that the house in question indeed belongs to the singer.

According to NME, Carey was in New York for a vacation during the time of the robbery, which probably made it a much easier time for the perpetrator/s to get ahold of as much valuables as they could. Mostly, the stolen items were designer handbags as well as sunglasses. The police are currently stipulating that the robbers gained entry through a window in the Beverly Hills mansion.

Apparently, a ladder was found in the backyard of Carey's mansion, according to TMZ. The perpetrators left the ladder there, and were probably in a hurry to leave the scene of the crime. It is surprising that the burglars did not set their eyes on Carey's jewelry, given her expensive taste. Reports stated that the burglars only gathered around 10 items from the home. It is safe to assume that the loss is not affecting Carey all that much.

Whoever was responsible for the burglary, it can be surmised that they were fully aware of whose house they were robbing. According to ABC News, Carey has been spending a lot of time recently on the East Coast to promote her upcoming film "The Star." In fact, Carey had posted on social media, urging her fans to listen to her new Christmas song of the same name, which is presumably for the movie as well.
