A new documentary on boxing phenomenon Manny Pacquiao releases on Blue-ray, DVD and on demand on 17 November.

'Manny', out from Universal Pictures, is directed by Leon Gast (When We Were Kings) and narrated by Liam Neeson.
It looks at Pacquiao's incredible career in the ring as well as his life outside it, including his unpromising start to life living in extreme poverty, and his later foray into politics and election to the Philippines Congress.

The documentary includes interviews with some of his fans, including actor Mark Wahlberg and comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

The trailer alludes to Pacquiao's devout Christian faith, with clips showing the boxer crossing himself and looking heavenward at his fights.

It ends with Pacquiao saying: "Why do I box, why do I fight? Because it's God's will."

Pacquiao, also known as Pacman, is the only boxer to win world titles in eight different weight classes.

His next big fight is against American Chris Algieri at the Venetian Macao on November 23, where he will be defending his WBO welterweight title.

Nothing seems to be beyond the 35-year-old as he expects to make his pro-basketball debut soon with the team Kia Sorentos.

Manny is the shortest and oldest rookie in the Philippine Basketball Association.

He's not expected to be on the court for more than a few minutes and for the timebeing at least, his thoughts are firmly on his fight with Algieri.

"My focus is on my training for the November fight," he said.

But fans are still keeping their eye out for news of a Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather showdown. Pacquiao has spoken of his desire to move full-time into politics and Mayweather may be retiring next year, giving rise to speculation that the two will finally face each other in the ring.

Mayweather took a swipe at Pacquiao last week, posting photos of the Filipino champion being knocked down in previous fights.

He remarked "Miss Pac Man is broke for a pay day".

But Pacquiao brushed the comments off, saying he "felt sorry" for Mayweather and that the boxer "should fear God".

"For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?" he added.
