Manny Pacquiao next fight news 2015: No more boxing for Pacquiao this year

For Manny Pacquiao, boxing will have to wait possibly until next year. The Filipino boxer has no immediate plans to make a return to the ring after undergoing surgery on his shoulder which apparently needs ample time to heal.

Pacquiao was present when his professional basketball team in the Philippines, Kia Carnival, played its final match in the ongoing PBA Governors Cup. Pacquiao was on hand to give his squad a boost which eventually worked as Kia won over the Meralco Bolts.

Pacquiao no longer had a sling to support his shoulder but stressed that his movement was still limited. The only sport he is able to do now is chess.

As far as his fight plans are concerned, he has no plans to come back this year. Pacquiao bared this through an interview by Nick Giongco of Tempo Sports.

With that said, Pacquiao could likely consider a return by early 2016 though no one has been mentioned for now. There are some who speculate that it could be a Pacquiao-Mayweather II though it would depend if the undefeated American boxer would still be interested in one since he did say that his September tiff would be the last one for his career.

If not Mayweather, Amir Khan could be a possible opponent though the former sparring partner said that both camps have yet to discuss a possible match next year.

Khan is now focused on trying to woo Mayweather into fighting him this September despite the fact that Floyd Jr. mentioned two relatively unknown fighters in Berto and Mayfield.

But until there is a fighter that is signed up for the planned September tiff, hope floats for Khan who looms as the best possible opponent if Mayweather is indeed looking for a solid opponent to face.

As far as Pacquiao is concerned, Khan is pretty much open to it. In fact he has somehow advised Pacquiao to man up and face him rather than Mayweather Jr. who is now avoiding him.

For now, Pacquiao is least concerned about getting back in the ring until he makes a full recovery. Khan on the other hand is hoping that Mayweather is just playing coy and meet him this September.
