Maddie Ziegler has dropped big revelations about "Dance Moms," the Lifetime reality series that sky-rocketed her to fame. The young dancing phenomenon — who viewers will recognize in Australian singer Sia's "Chandelier" and "Elastic Heart" music videos — gave the game away by telling USA Today that the fights and the drama in the show are scripted.
It seems that the only things real about "Dance Moms" are the exquisite dancing and the great bond between the cast. The rest of it (the clashes on the show), according to Ziegler, is merely staged.
"It's hard to do a reality show when there's so much crying and drama. The producers set it up to make us all yell at each other," she dished out. "You know how I said that moms do fight? The moms have to fake a fight sometimes. Afterward they just start talking and laugh about it."
Meanwhile, "a new Maddie" in the person of Brynn Rumfallo arrived in the most recent episode of the dancing-themed program. ADLC founder Abby Lee Miller was so impressed with her dancing prowess that she made her (and her mom Ashlee) come back and do a solo in yesterday's episode.
Her return, however, seemed to have stressed the real and original Maddie out, and ultimately threatened her status in the team. Furthermore, Abby favoring the ADLC newcomer was just too conspicuous not to notice.
But in the end, ADLC came out as the champion, with Maddie snagging first place with her solo performance on "Vertigo." The episode concluded with Brynn, who placed second for her contemporary piece "Diamond in the Rough," still behind the top dancer. Brynn was not able to manage becoming the "new Maddie" after all.
