MacOS High Sierra bugs cause delay in delivering SMS and iMessage

The latter weeks of September was when the giant technology company Apple launched an update for the macOS High Sierra. However, there have been reports from the users stating that they have encountered some major issues after they applied the update to their systems. Specifically, the messaging services of the Mac caused some delays in sending and receiving messages.

In a report by Mac Rumors, the source of the problem is caused by a bug in the update, and it is experienced through the iMessage service, the SMS texts, and iCloud synced devices. These reports have been steadily coming in, which means that the problem is affecting a handful of macOS users globally. Additionally, the problem is also encountered in other products of Apple, like the iPads, iPhones, and Apple's smartwatches.

The reports are varied. Some people reported that some of their devices do not receive the communications at the same time. On the other hand, restarting some devices does not fix the problem. This is a concern of Apple customers since the company has put a high regard on product synchronicity and efficiency.

There is some delay in receiving messages through texts and iMessage. In some cases, messages are not being sent at all. According to The Verge, there have been reports of messages coming through after long periods after sending, but the devices fail to notify users altogether. This is a serious issue, since instant communication is one of the basic services that the technologically advanced products of Apple promises its customers.

The problem has caused most of the users to downgrade their operating systems to the previous version, the macOS Sierra. The update has now been handed off to beta testers, as reported by Apple Insider. The testing has to continue to check for any more inconsistencies and faulty features and bugs that may need their attention. The developers will have to ensure that the bugs are not just fixed for the Mac, but across different products as well.
