MacBook 2015 vs Microsoft Surface Pro 4 comparison: Battle of power, specs and fashionability

 Apple Store

Seeing Apple and Microsoft going at it again is a familiar scenario. And when it comes to getting either, it may all boil down to the user's preference. Will it be the brand? The looks? Or the specs?

These are just some of the recurring scenarios when it comes to purchasing devices from Apple or Microsoft. Apple has undoubtedly had the edge and the MacBook is certainly something that has been craved for by many. But can Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 even the odds with its powerful specs?

It may all boil down to a consumer's expectations and needs. In the case of the MacBook, it is undoubtedly something that will carry the high resolution display that Apple has been famous for.

But for Microsoft, what it lacks in display resolution is made up in terms of internal parts. The Surface Pro 4 packs a mean bunch of specs that should draw interest in a blink.

The Surface Pro 4 offers a maximum of 1TB of internal memory compared to the MacBook's 512GB storage while its RAM is twice that of the MacBook 2015 which is 8GB.

For the MacBook, it will be interesting to see how the single Type-C port can keep up as well as its fanless technology particularly when grueling tasks come around.

On the other hand, the Surface Pro 4 is multitouch and can either be a tablet or a laptop. It even comes with a digital pen which provides users with various ways to navigate or interact using the device.

While both are neat to consider, it remains to be seen which of the two can prosper with consumers. Without question, both have their set of advantages over the other hence making the final verdict on purchase rely on how and where they would be used.

Apple vs. Microsoft? It seems like an old song of sorts. What may be interesting is on whether Mac users would shift to the Microsoft wagon and vice versa.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is expected to make its way into the market between July to October, 2015 with prices starting at $1,200.

The MacBook 2015 on the other hand is already available and something you can get for prices starting at $1,299.
