Los Angeles Lakers NBA 2015 news: Searching for the perfect power forward?

 Wikipedia

The Los Angeles Lakers drafted D' Angelo Russell, something that could be surprising or not for hoop junkies. The question is why pass up on a talented player like Jahlil Okafor?

The answer to that lies perhaps in the fact that the team can get their hands on an experienced and tested power forward in NBA Free Agency.

Just check out the big names available – LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love and DeMarcus Cousins. The Lakers have the chance to get one or a couple of them though just one of them could make a difference.

But are the Lakers that hooked on getting a power forward? Remember that they still have Julius Randle though there have been rumors that he could be traded if necessary.

The Lakers have no inside track on who among the mentioned power forwards could possibly agree to join them but expect them to make an aggressive push. Who among the three could they possibly get?

The thing is, the Lakers are not the only team in pursuit of the bigs. They do have the salary cap but these guys are looking for an NBA title. Money is important of course but depending on who, the priority could play between the two.

Of the three, only Kevin Love seems to be a big question mark. Is he really bolting the Cavs?

The case of Cousins and Aldridge is different. They are both unhappy with their teams and the potential change of zip codes is up in the air.

With barely a team to offer, inkling any of the big names should be a big boost. They have the guards (Jordan Clarkson and rookie D' Angelo Russell), possibly Kobe Bryant and Randle. Could that core be enough to get the Lakers on the winning track (plus a supporting cast)?
