Feeling lonely? Here are 11 Bible verses to reassure you that God is always with us

We don't need to be physically on our own to feel lonely. Many of us may have experienced some of our loneliest times when we were literally surrounded by others. Equally, we have the ability to feel immensely connected and part of something during periods of physical solitude. During times of loneliness we can feel outcast, rejected and extremely isolated. But throughout all of this, God is still with us.

If you're feeling lonely, try and remember that you are never truly alone. Here are 11 Bible verses which show us that God is always with us.

Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Joshua 1:9 - Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Psalm 23:4 - Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 27:10 - Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.

Psalm 73:23-25 - Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterwards you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.

Psalm 139:7-10 - Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

Isaiah 41:10 - So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
