LG G4: New LG UX 4.0 introduced in new video

The LG G4 will be officially launched on April 28. That's still weeks away, but the veil on the tech firm's flagship is almost off. After giving viewers a sneak peek of the handset's beautiful QHD display last week, LG took time to introduce the LG UX 4.0, the all-new user interface for the LG G4 that brings a whole host of features for a new user experience.

In terms of imaging, the LG UX 4.0 introduces Quick Shot, which allows users to take a photo even with the phone locked by pushing the volume down button on the back of the phone. This feature will be most useful in capturing every moment in a flash. Meanwhile, the Expert Camera Mode in the LG UX 4.0 lets the LG G4 automatically group photos according to the location the pictures are taken. This makes capturing images more convenient for photo buffs.

With the new LG UX 4.0, users will be able to make use of the Ring ID feature, which makes callers easier to identify by assigning a certain ringtone for a specific contact. Other perks from the LG UX 4.0 include the Smart Boards, which combines information on music, calendars and health into one single display so a user can see them all with a quick look. There is also the new Smart Alert, which recommends activities (often, the users' hobbies) to do in a day based on the weather.

There were also some tweaks especially made for the LG UX 4.0. Users can now drag activities and events from Facebook to the new Calendar app, while the Gallery now groups photos together either by date or location.

As far as the design goes, LG did not make much difference as the South Korea-based manufacturer had its eyes fixed on enhancing the features. On the whole, the upcoming device looks to be a potential competitor in the smartphone market, and that will be proven once the LG G4 with the LG UX 4.0 arrives on April 28.
