LG G5 news: Between new handset and older LG G4, it is all about the camera

One of the great features of the new LG G5 is its camera. It is, however, almost similar to its predecessor, the LG G4. Both flagship phones have a 16MP main camera, but the newer model houses a secondary main camera, an 8MP wide-angle one, and this is where the fun begins.

There is no doubt that the camera of the LG G4 is great on its own. DxoMark even gave it a score of 83, the highest being 88, which is held by a newer phone model. Based on the professional review, the G4's camera is very accurate, good in detail preservation, good in all lighting conditions and good in eliminating noise in low light. But no information is available for the newer G5.

Trusted Reviews has already performed their respective test for both phones, and they hailed the LG G5's wide-angle camera. The 8MP second camera features a 135-degree field of view. Normal camera phones only offer a 75-degree view, almost similar to the human eye.

Anyone who is familiar with a GoPro style footage will definitely see its resemblance. It has a very different look and feel from shots taken by the 16MP camera. Downside is it is not as sharp as an image taken by its main camera.

The review added that switching between the two lenses on the back is very quick and easy, just a tap on the screen.

9To5Google also got ample time to explore the LG G5, which also gave them a fun way to shoot the two-camera system phone.

According to the report, the LG's camera app can provide its users with the easy integration of the two-lens phone. Upon zooming out and if it goes beyond what the main camera can offer, it automatically switches to the wide-angle camera, aside from the instant switch button.

LG also loaded the camera app with several modes that let users create unique photos, like a photo collage wherein both lenses are used.

The company also incorporated some manual control features with its camera app. This, of course, can give extra control to its users before taking that special shot, be it for the shutter speed, ISO and white balance. A whole lot of controls are also available for the wide-angle camera.

For video footage, the 16MP camera can take 4K-quality videos, while the wide-angle camera can only provide up to 1080p quality.
