The rollout for Android Lollipop continues. Just recently, LG India announced that the Android 5.0 build will be brought to the LG G2 in the country come the second quarter of the year. This means that owners of the 2013 flagship in India will get a taste of the sweetness, with April as the earliest and June being the latest. LG India revealed its Lollipop plans for the handset after a user inquired about the rollout.
LG G2 owners are still stuck with Android KitKat and transitioning to the new software will be a major step, so it is recommended that users backup their data, perform a factory reset, and secure stable Wi-Fi connection all throughout the switch.
With the update, users will be able to enjoy the new Material Design as well as the 64-bit ART compiler that quickens the launching of apps. Other benefits include Project Volta, which should prolong the handset's battery life. The 5.2-inch smartphone will also bear changes on the Recent Apps menu, Lock Screen notifications, as well as Quick Settings.
On the other hand, the newer Android 5.1 build is moving ahead, too. In fact, it has already found its way to several Nexus devices. The latest to get it is the Nexus 10 and Google has already made factory images available for flashing.
Coming in 104.4 MB, the over the air 5.1 Lollipop update bears the LMY47D build. It brings with it a host of bug fixes, improvements on the device's performance and most importantly, stability.
Those who rock the tablet should have been notified to install it by now. But with the rollout done in phases, it might take some time for other Nexus devices to follow suit. But those prompted to update their Nexus 10 need to make sure that the device has at least 50 percent juice.
