LG G2 users in India to get Android 5.0 Lollipop update in Q2 2015

The focus right now is really on the LG G3 but that doesn't mean that its predecessor, the LG G2 has been forgotten. For sure there will still be a lot of people who would be using the said handset and the good news is that the Android 5.0 Lollipop could be within reach by the second quarter of 2015.

LG India mentioned through Twitter that the Android 5.0 Lollipop for the LG G2 may be released in the next couple of months. However they failed to mention an exact date meaning LG G2 users in India may have to occasionally check their devices if the update is already available.

So what changes can LG G2 users expect over there?

Among the updates to be expected include the new Material Design which is a 64-bit ART compiler which should help apps open faster.

Another feature to expect is Project Volta which should help improve the battery life of the device.

Other updates to look forward to include the recent apps menu, lock screen notifications and the ability to access the quick settings menu. These and a lot more are expected to be included in the said update.

Should the update become available, it would be best to make sure that owners have a stable WiFi connection to properly download the update. Also, it would be advisable to make sure that your phone is at least 50% charged before downloading and/or applying the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

The LG G2 is still a popular phone in use in India (and the world) ever since it hit the market in 2013.

For folks who may not be readily familiar with the LG G2, the device boasts of a 5.2-inch screen and is powered by a quad core 2.3 Ghz Snapdragon processor. It comes with a rear 13MP camera and relies on a 3000 mAh battery which can hopefully show improvement once the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is applied.
