Lenovo is said to be prepping up an improved Miix 510 that could compete with the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. The Miix 520 is said to have an appealing technical specification.

Winfuture, a German website, got hold of some information for the alleged 2-in-1 device. The Miix 520 is said to have a 12.3-inch display that would offer a 1920×1200 pixels resolution that protected by Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, the latest Intel Kaby Lake U series, seventh-generation processors will power the device that has a top clock speed of 2.7GHz. The system memory can be equipped with up to 16GB (DDR4) and could carry up to 1TB of SSD storage. It is also speculated to provide up to 10 hours use on a single charge.

An 8 MP/2MP dual-camera setup is said to adorn the back end of the device, which can be used for augmented reality (AR) applications, while the front will contain a 5MP camera, which will suffice for web calls. A fingerprint security sensor is also said to come along, as well as one USB 3.0 port, two USB Type-C ports, and a microSD card reader. Stereo speakers with Dolby Advance Audio certification will take care of the sound department, and the magnesium-aluminum metal alloy body will help keep every delicate component protected. It is also said to have a fan-less design and will have heat pipes and vapor chambers instead, Phone Arena added.

The Verge stated that many would probably be excited with the latest Kaby Lake processor that will arrive with the Lenovo Miix 520, but they should not really expect much from it. Although it would offer a difference in terms of power efficiency and faster processing of light workload, it is still not at par with the processing power of the Surface Book 4.

Meanwhile, the Miix 510 is currently on sale and has a starting price of $599. It contains the sixth-generation Intel Skylake processor, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB SSD storage, and 8 hours of battery life.

The Lenovo Miix 520 is speculated to take the stage at the upcoming CES 2017 in January.
