Left 4 Dead originally came out in 2008 through Turtle Rock Studios. It had a sequel in 2009 with Left 4 Dead 2 but a third installment hasn't been heard of until now. Valve has been mum on the third installment, hence no official word on an actual release date just yet.

So what brought out all these excitement for Left 4 Dead 3? Well at the start of the year, leaked screenshots were rendered using Valve's game engine Source 2.0. Apparently the shots were believed to have been part of a slideshow during a confidential meeting. Among the images that were leaked include a Plantation level from Left 4 Dead 2.

For those who are unfamiliar with the game, Left 4 Dead is a post-apocalyptic zombie first-person shooter game where players can choose to play as one of four available characters. The main objective is to fight your way through adversaries like zombies and reach the safe house for each level. The game ends once all survivors reach the final level and escape.

The game can be played locally or online. That includes multiplayer options where players can play co-op or as enemies using survivor or zombie characters.
