LA Clippers news: Austin Rivers- Father and son tandem in Los Angeles?

Don't look now but Austin Rivers may yet find himself playing under his dad over in Los Angeles.

Initial talks are reportedly underway between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Boston Celtics. Rivers was part of that big trade which saw the Celtics send Jeff Green to the Grizzlies. And from the looks of it, Boston is just a temporary stop over for the young Rivers.

And based on tweets from reporters, seeing a father and son act over in Los Angeles seems pretty imminent as the Clippers join teams who are trying to beat the NBA trade deadline which will be on February 19.

At the moment, Rivers is on the inactive list of the Celtics. To his credit, Rivers is averaging 6.8 points per game via 38.7 shooting clip. This early though, many are skeptical about the potential reunion, pondering on how Rivers' arrival to the Clippers cap could affect the elder Rivers rotation.

Aside from a father-and-son act, the trade is not seen as something that would dramatically change the Clippers fortune. But it will be recalled that Austin has had his share of the limelight, a budding player that could make it big in the league if given more time to mature.

Another angle that deserves some attention is how the team up could affect their relationship. Austin sounded a bit hesitant about the idea of him playing under his father which makes the whole scenario something to look out for.

"I don't want to ruin the relationship," Austin said at the time. "We have a great relationship. If the situation ever presented itself, I'd roll with it, but I don't think that will ever happen, to be honest with you. He's always going to have his lane, and I'll have mine. We'll wish each other the best of luck until we play each other, and that's how it will always be" says Austin in an article from ESPN.
