Kirk Cousins says career does not interfere with his faith

Kirk Cousins, the quarterback of the National Football League (NFL) team, the Washington Redskins, has proven to be firm in both his faith and his work. In a recent report, Cousins swatted claims that alluded to the possibility of his occupation, as an NFL quarterback, being disruptive to the practices of Christianity.

In a report by The Gospel Coalition, Cousins stated that being a football player is something that he feels to be his calling as a Christian.

"I believe the Lord has called me at least for this part of my life to be an NFL quarterback," said Cousins. It is safe to assume that Cousins, much like any other high-profile professional athlete, could be surrounded with temptations all the time.

This is not very hard to believe especially since athletes are traveling on the road all the time, away from their homes and loved ones, and are prone to being approached by all sorts of people — sometimes, even those of the unsavory sort. However, Cousins asserted that there are multiple forms of temptation, and they can be found in many types of work environments. In fact, he also stated that there are a lot of devout Christians within the NFL.

Wood TV has reported that some friends of Cousins look up to him as a speaker on religion and faith. Most people would immediately associate Cousins as a tremendous football player, with the stats to prove it. According to his close friends, Jon and Justin Genzink, he still has a lot of problems — just like all people.

"I have had quite a journey in life and in faith," said Jon. He added that he attributed these achievements and epiphanies to Cousins.

It seems that Cousins is the type of person who applies himself to the things that he believes in, whether it be about his religion or his career. Sports Illustrated stated that Cousins had recently received his own office at the Redskins Park Drive, in Washington D.C. The reason for this odd request is so that Cousins can diligently organize the different aspects of his life, whether it involves how to go against opposing teams or how to care for his family.
