"Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" will be the final game to be released prior to highly anticipated "Kingdom Hearts 3," series producer Shinji Hashimoto assured in a conference at the Lucca Comics & Games 2016.
The said compilation "will proceed directly" to "Kingdom Hearts 3," as per Hashimoto (translated by KH13), who is also the brand manager for "Final Fantasy 15."
The compilation includes "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance," "Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover" and "Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage."
"Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance" is the reworked version of the action role-playing game released for the Nintendo 3Ds in 2012. "Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover," on the other hand, is a movie that will fill fans in on a missing section of the "Kingdom Hearts" timeline.
"Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage" will be new content that fans will get to experience before Square Enix drops "Kingdom Hearts 3." Pre-ordering the collection should get players a free dynamic theme for the PlayStation 4.
As for information on "Kingdom Hearts 3," Square Enix will not give away anything about the game until "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8" is released. This means that specific details about the game won't arrive until around January.
However, game director Tetsuya Nomura made sure to give fans a peek of the game by sharing two screenshots on Twitter, which teases two new Drive Forms for Sora and the Mt. Olympus from Hercules finally being accessible.
The plot of "Kingdom Hearts 3," on the other hand, was revealed on the box of the Play Arts Kai action figure for Sora. A Twitter user with handle ArikaMiz shared photos of the packaging online.
