'Kingdom Hearts 3' news: new teasers detail Mt. Olympus, new Drive Forms for Sora

A couple of screenshots from "Kingdom Hearts 3" has been released by developer Square Enix, introducing to fans the new forms of protagonist Sora in the game.

The first image shows the hero's new Drive Form called the Guard Form, which, when accessed, transforms Sora's Keyblade into a shield, the Herc's Shield to be specific.

The location featured in this "Kingdom Hearts 3" screenshot appears to be Mount Olympus, which means that games will get to explore more about the world of Hercules.

Fans will remember that "Kingdom Hearts 2" also featured the Hercules lore, although it only allowed players to navigate to the grounds of the Coliseum.

For "Kingdom Hearts 3," Square Enix is looking to take players to the skies and into the iconic landmark for some awesome action-packed adventure.

The second screenshot features another new form for Sora in the game. Not much can be taken away from it, something that Square Enix actually wanted. However, they were kind enough to give a bit of a tease on what it is about.

"This power form was edited as it is the Keyblade from a world that hasn't been released yet, so it has changed into a hammer shape," the Twitter account for "Kingdom Hearts" explained.

IGN posits that it could be a Drive Form that allows Sora to perform a major attack and damage. Other than that, there is no telling what this form entails.

It is likely that fans would not know for a while as Square Enix is careful in choosing what "Kingdom Hearts 3" details to provide.

As the folks behind the franchise's Twitter account said, the release of the screenshots was an idea by director Tetsuya Nomura to help fans get by the news-less months.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is expected to be released early next year. More information should be revealed after "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue" is going to be released in January.
