Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole album release date: Rappers focus on respective collaborations, concerts

With the rappers busy with their respective careers, the wait for the Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole album is not getting any shorter. This has fans worried that the project will never see the light of day.

As per reports, Lamar and Cole are not actively working on their joint album. The former has concerts scheduled up to October while Cole will begin a string of week-long concert performances beginning in a couple of days.

Apart from their busy schedule, there are rumors going around that Lamar has called off the collaboration so that he can work with hip hop recording artist Travis Scott instead.

Lamar and Scott teamed up for the song "Goosebumps," which is one of the tracks in the latter's newly released album, "Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight."

If the reports are anything to go by, it looks like the "How Much A Dollar Cost" rapper enjoyed working with the 24-year-old enough to make an entire album with him.

Lamar was also among the rappers (along with Earl Sweatshirt and Ab-Soul) who helped Danny Brown with the monster collaboration song "Really Doe" for his upcoming album, "Atrocity Exhibition."

As for Cole, he is currently part of the lineup for AAHH! FEST, a music festival organized by Common to raise funds for the Common Ground Foundation and Donda's House.

Cole will perform at the event to be held Chicago's Union Park on Sept. 24 and 25, along with artists Vic Mensa, The Roots, and Ice Cube.

For the rapper's collaborative endeavors, DJ Booth suggests that Cole could work with "Coffee" singer Miguel once more. The publication says that the artists share natural chemistry.

This is evident with their collaborative songs "All I Want Is You" and "Power Trip," where they showed how killer of a duo they can be. With these projects, Cole also proved that RnB is also in his wheelhouse.

There is no word if Cole and Miguel will get together again for another hit, but DJ Booth believes that they should at some point in the future. As for the "Apparently" rapper's album with Lamar, it looks like it might not be happening soon.
