Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman in prayer video for Reba McEntire's Pray for Peace movement

Reba McEntire just released "Pray for Peace" on Monday but to the country star, it's more than just a song.

It's a movement and she's hoping those who hear it will really take it to heart and do just what it asks: pray for peace.

And some big names have already given their support to the cause, including Keith Urban, Jamie Lynn Spears and the Band Perry.

She told People Country: "In a way, I'm totally amazed at the response. And in another way, I'm not because I knew this was a message that people would receive and share."

She shares in more detail on her website about how the song came together.

"The idea to write the song "Pray For Peace" came to me last year as I was walking on our place in Gallatin, Tn. For days I'd sing, 'Pray for Peace', over and over," she says.

"I feel this song is a gift from God. I have never worked on a song as long as this one. It went from a bass drum, fiddle and singers to guest artist singing with me, adding more instruments and even a choir and a bagpipe!

"It's an act of perseverance, prayer, hope, fellowship and mostly love."

The video and a free download of her song are available on her website at www.reba.com

It's just a few days after its release but's lit a fire with fans who have left positive comments on her Facebook page.

One fan, Jennifer Franke wrote: "I have been singing this with you for a while and didn't even know it. I pray for peace not just for the world we live in but for peace in our families."

The country music scene has been quick to get behind the call, sharing the message on their social media pages with the hashtag #PrayforPeace, and artists like Native Run and Laura Bell Bundy have been posting videos and images of themselves making the peace sign.

Keith Urban shared a cute video of wife Nicole Kidman and their two daughters making the peace sign and clasping their hands together - watch below.

The team over at Grand Ole Opry also got together on the stage with giant cardboard signs reading Pray for Peace.

And Reba has clearly been touched by the response, commenting on Facebook: "Thank you all so much for commenting on the song and video. I pray it touches your heart as much as it does mine."
