Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx were spotted together in a rare public display of affection at the pre-Grammy gala at the Sheraton in Manhattan on Saturday night.
According to Page Six, Holmes, who was sporting a bright red gown and sleek bob, arrived first with Tribeca Production's Jane Rosenthal. Later, Foxx also came in and took his place at a table next to Holmes.
They were seen smiling at each other and exchanging jokes until host Clive Davis started calling out the big names in attendance. The 39-year-old actress took that as a cue to leave the table, as to not attract attention to her and her rumored beau.
However, her strategy proved unsuccessful when she went back to her table and found that Davis was waiting for her to do just that.
"This lady left the room right when I was going to introduce her, she was sitting at that table right with Jamie Foxx and everyone else," the 85-year-old record producer announced to the crowd, adding, "If you're going to sit together, what better night than tonight."
This drew laughter from Foxx and other big star guests like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, among others. Holmes was also seen giving an embarrassed smile.
A source close to the situation told People that the "Dawson's Creek" actress felt "really uncomfortable" when Davis called them out. "They still plan to be very under the radar with their relationship," the insider shared, adding, "They are both very private and never plan to be super public or talk about their relationship."
It seems though that the pair still chose to follow Davis' advice that night, when Foxx eventually moved to Holmes' table and sat beside her. They were photographed looking happy together, with the 50-year-old actor-singer seen whispering in her ear at one point. They also danced together when Logic and DJ Khaled performed.
The couple has been rumored to be dating since 2013. Despite being seen together several times in the past, the pair has yet to confirm or deny their relationship.
