Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Marcos Reyes live stream, preview: How to watch boxing online (Showtime)

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-2-1, 32 by KO) faces Marcos "Dorado" Reyes this Saturday at the Don Haskins Convention Center in El Paso, Texas, a tiff that is pretty much important to both fighters. However, the pressure could be more on Chaves Jr. who is trying to recover from a recent loss at the hands of Andrzej Fonfara last April.

For the son of boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez, his career has been a rollercoaster ride. His frustrations are traced all the way back to 2012 when he lost the World Boxing Council (WBC) middleweight belt to Sergio Martinez.

Although Chavez was able to rebound from that devastating loss with two wins over Brian Vera, he was sent back to reality with that ninth-round retirement loss to Fonfara. But looking into the fight details, Chavez was overly dominated by Fonfarra so the results were not short of surprising.

But now, Chavez returns with presumably something different. For one, he has a new trainer in Robert Garcia, someone who is credited of handling Marcos Maidana before.

Maidana is of course best remembered for surprising Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their first bout but lost handily in the rematch. Aside from the undefeated American boxer, Maidana has also taken on Amir Khan and Adrien Broner.

Apparently, Garcia, who replaces previous trainer Joe Goossen, believes that he can help Chavez achieve success the way he did with Maidana.

On whether those changes will be seen this coming Saturday is anyone's guess but for Chaves' sake, hopefully the changes and improvements can be finally seen.

On the other hand is Reyes, who believes he has the mentality and power to hand Chavez yet another loss in his career. Reyes is handled by Don Ignacio Beristain and holds a (33-2) record and hopes that a win over Chavez will be his ticket to break out in the International scene.

Chavez Jr. and Reyes get it on at the Don Haskins Convention Center in El Paso Texas this Saturday (July 18) at 10 p.m. EST. The bout will be televised live via Showtime and can also be watched via live stream here.
