Jeremy Lin news, rumors: Will Lin leave or stay with LA Lakers?

Everyone knows for a fact that Jeremy Lin may as well be gone from the Los Angeles Lakers fold. However new rumors suggest that the Asian-American from Harvard may just stay in Hollywood though that would depend if the Lakers would keep him.

Lin hasn't exactly been the bright spot everyone remembered him by when he was with the New York Knicks. He has been criticized by Laker star Kobe Bryant for his lack of defense while also being demoted to backup by head coach Byron Scott.

With all those factors in tow, why on earth would Lin prefer to stay with the Lakers when his NBA career could very well be in limbo?

From the looks of it, Lin believes in second chances and may be looking to have another go under the system of coach Byron Scott. Lin has been practically scratched out of the Lakers future plans as he and some other players are expected to be available come free agency.

Among other players rumored not coming back include Carlos Boozer, Wesley Johnson, Jordan Hill and Nick Young. These players have not been vocal nor hinted of wanting to leave Los Angeles but it will ultimately be up to Lakers management to decide on who stays and who goes.

Lin is likely to find it rough landing on a new team and his salary is expected to be the issue. Lin hasn't exactly been the same person that brought Linsanity out in the open and many feel that he could eventually end up playing backup guard for any team.

An option is of course to rejoin his former coach, Mike D' Antoni, wherever he may end up. To date, there is no word on whether D' Antoni would be coaching again though there is word that he could be considered over in Denver.

Hence, it could be touch-and-go for Lin from hereon. The Lakers may not put him on their priority list but was never totally struck out from the list of players which will be left out.

If ever Lin would return, it may likely be a short deal, a one-year contract, which may not necessarily rack in a big paycheck compared to what he is currently earning.
