'James Bond 24' movie news: script leaked, email reveals execs' concern about bland ending

Sony's recent e-mail hack is indeed a disaster. It's every movie studio's worst nightmare. It's massive and huge. And it is mostly embarrassing. The email exchanges that have been stolen and leaked include information about upcoming movies as well as conversations between Hollywood executives.

But that's not all, the third act for the James Bond movie "Spectre" was also leaked. Apparently, the Sony executives don't like the final act at all and they want the ending rewritten. It is also said that a screenwriter was already let go due to it.

Defamer has compiled the e-mail exchanges, one of which was a message from MGM executive Jonathan Glickman, saying, "For what it's worth, I think first 100 pages are fantastic. It's all downhill from there. You guys set me up for a let down on climax. So I was not surprised."

Another memo said, "Also, there needs to be some kind of a twist rather than a series of water chases with guns."

"We've already witnessed many horrible acts of terrorism, the finale should be about the biggest one yet that allows SPECTRE to profit the most. They should need the combined resources of all the intelligence agencies to pull it off. Surely there is something more pressing than suppressing one document," one noted.

Why are the moviemakers so concerned about the third act? For one, the movie has a really huge budget, around $300 million, which was also revealed through the e-mail leak, reports Time. This puts "Spectre" as one of the most expensive movies to date. Just that reason alone makes it unsurprising why the studio execs are pressuring the writers to make sure that the movie has the best ending possible.

It's good to know that the filmmakers are actually concerned about the depth of the movie and what the audience will like. Nonetheless, this really puts the pressure on Sony to make sure that "Spectre" gets the best ending.

James Bond 24 "Spectre" is slated for release on Nov. 6, 2015.
