'James Bond 24' movie news: Theme song 'Spectre' by Sam Smith, 'Skyfall' cast returns

"James Bond 24" or "Spectre" was affected by the Sony cyber attack. The hackers released a stolen email conversation between the higher-ups talking about the weak third act of the movie. Since then, it seems like Sony has been keeping things discreet; hence, there's not much spoilers going around lately.

Despite that setback, there are still some noteworthy news about the upcoming "James Bond" installment. For one, there's a betting game going on as to who will sing the movie's theme song. Some of the rumors revolve around Adele (again), Rihanna, and Sam Smith. However, there's only one who leads the pack — Sam Smith.

What are the odds that Smith will do it? According to BettingPro.com, Smith leads with 4-1 odds. He is followed by Ed Sheeran with 6-1 and Lana Del Ray, Rita Ora and One Direction tied at 8-1. Other singers included in the odds are Ellie Goulding, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Adele, Katy Perry, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Florence and the Machine, Lady Gaga, and Tom Jones.

Alongside the betting for who will sing the theme song, there is also a bet about Daniel Craig leaving the movie franchise after "Spectre." The odds are at a 6-1 chance. However, this doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Meanwhile, it is only early in December that the title "Spectre" was confirmed. Prior to that, the movie was simply called "James Bond 24." The reason behind the title is that Spectre is actually an organization that has been in the Bond movies already. This time, the British Secret Service agent will finally dwell into this storyline and, not to mention, he will be taking the "Skyfall" cast with him. Over at Facebook, a post confirmed the returning cast members to reprise their roles in the new movie.

"James Bond will return in SPECTRE. Joining Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris and Rory Kinnear are Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, David Bautista and Andrew Scott," the post said.

Who among these people will play Bond's main villain? The first rumor pointed to Ernst Stavro Blofeld and Roger Moore, but this rumor was later slammed in Twitter. The official tweet said, "And Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser!"

The other actors joining the movie are Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinneear.

"Spectre" is slated for release on Nov. 6, 2015.
