Liv and the gang will finally return for "iZombie" season 2 tomorrow, but each of them will not be as they were in the freshman season. According to KSite TV, the season 1 finale altered the dynamic between the protagonist and the others, and the season opener titled "Grumpy Old Liv" will see that manifest.

The episode shows exactly what the title says. Liv will have the personality of a cantankerous old man, whose brains she consumes in a bid to know more about his death. An anonymous call involving this man's death leads Liv and Detective Babineaux to the doorstep of Byron Thistlewaite, who will be played by "Veronica Mars" alum Adam Rose.

Fans will also see some changes in Blaine in "iZombie" season 2. The former Utopium dealer has renounced his old ways (he had no choice after his Meat Cute business was reduced to rubble last season) and has chosen to take his chances on a funeral business, where he still gets to practice his love for the undead and get paid for it.

And he seems to be enjoying the career change, with actor David Anders, who plays Blaine, revealing to USA Today that "it's a fun new vocation." In the season premiere, viewers will get a glimpse of his funeral business, with Liv paying him a visit.

It is still unclear if Liv will see him put on a white face, which he would do "to pass himself off as a zombie," as per executive producer Rob Thomas. "He still wants those customers to fear him. [So] we're going to have fun with that," he said during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Meanwhile, the "iZombie" season 2 premiere might also see Major exhibit a side effect of the cure Liv injected him in the season 1 finale. It remains a mystery what sort of side effect that is.

"iZombie" season 2 premieres with "Grumpy, Old Liv" on The CW on Oct. 6 at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can watch it from the CW app.
