Is it the beginning of the end for Donald Trump? His 'balloon has been punctured,' says conservative activist

One long-time conservative activist believes the real-estate mogul's days as a front-runner in the Republican presidential race are numbered even though Trump is still leading in national polls.

Richard Viguerie, chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, said Trump underperformed in Iowa, leading to his unexpected loss to Ted Cruz. "I think his balloon has been punctured," Viguerie said. "The only person who has gone after Trump and has won is Cruz, and now I think others are going to be emboldened to do that."

He predicts that Trump "probably won't be a serious factor" by mid-March, WND reported.

"I think Trump will continue to fade. He's a liberal running in a Republican primary and that's not going to last very long," Viguerie said.

The veteran conservative activist said people should not be fooled into believing Trump is a conservative just because he is opposed to certain Obama administration policies.

"Every position he takes now, probably with no exception, he had a different position five to 10 years ago," Viguerie said. "And after it becomes clear about his moral views and values, I think it's going to be tough for conservatives to support him."

Viguerie said he believes Cruz can follow up his Iowa victory with wins in other states in the days ahead.

He's noted that Cruz has the largest number of individual donors of any of the Republican candidates. "He's got more super PAC money than all the other [GOP] candidates except for Bush," Viguerie said.

Trump's Hollywood star defaced with swastika

Meanwhile, Trump's Hollywood star on the widely known Walk of Fame strip in Los Angeles was vandalised and spray-painted with a black swastika, according to WND.

This wasn't the first time that the Nazi swastika sign was used to smear Trump, according to the Hill. Just few weeks ago, officials in Georgia were alerted on swastika signs placed around a picture of Trump.

Moreover, last month, the sister of Anne Frank, the Holocaust girl of "The Diary of Anne Frank" fame, wrote in Newsweek that Trump is "acting like another Hitler" for his statements about banning Muslims from entering the United States.
