iPod Touch 6G: Will Apple ever release the 6th generation iPod?

If Apple ever plans to release the much-awaited iPod touch sixth generation, the company is way behind schedule. To put it more specifically, the Cupertino-based company has users waiting for two years now.

At the moment, the latest model for the media player is still the iPod touch fifth generation, unveiled in September 2012. Many expected to see its rather delayed successor during the Apple keynote event in October. Many thought that among the array of new Apple offerings, the iPod touch 6G would be included. It was a reasonable expectation as users have always believed that Apple will come to its senses and finally recognize how belated and needed it has become. But to everyone's frustration, no iPod touch 6G showed up, and it looks like 2014 will not be the year users will ever see one. And worse, there will be no more waiting required as many speculate that Apple will put an end to the iPod touch collection altogether.

This is another sensible conjecture. With the advent of smartphones that are equally (or even more) efficient in managing the iPod touch's core features like music playing and gaming, the showground is slowly becoming an unlikely place for the iPod touch to survive. Air Herald also adds that new-fangled smartwatches tense up the competition even more. It may also be that the maker fears that the magnetism the media player had before may no longer be as strong as it was. This is a foreseeable major setback for Apple. So clearly, the titanic company is dodging a potential flop with the iPod touch, which looks like something incapable of morphing into a sales generator.

Apple may fail to see the importance of the iPod touch at the present time but some users do not. It is hard to determine though if these customers and their drive to see an overhauled iPod touch are enough to spawn great profit for Apple to go on with releasing more of its media player.

Despite the doubts and mysteries surrounding the iPod touch 6G, many still believe that 2015 will be the year it will finally put in an appearance.
