iOS 9 problems: Game Center bug found?

The problems surrounding the iOS 9 update seem to be piling up and the latest issue has something to do with the Game Center.

The issue could be a cause for concern for folks, particularly the ones who are fond of playing games using their Apple devices.

The word out is that when using Game Center or accessing the settings is done, the app will eventually lock up. So in short, the issue is somehow similar to device freezes which some have reportedly run into when they were trying to update to the latest Apple operating system.

Rebooting the device seems to be of no help as well, seeing that the device will pretty much bring you to the same spot before restarting your device.

Right now, it seems that there is one solution to the issue and folks are not going to like it. It would require a complete wipe of the phone. Take note that restoring it from backup will not solve the issue so in short, the only way is to setup your device fresh.

Such should be a bummer, considering you may lose your stored data and may need to re-install the apps you had once more.

Of course, this is considered the last resort and the only other possible resolution for the matter is to wait for a bug fix.

Despite earlier anticipation that the iOS 9 was seen to technically resolve issues that the previous operating system had, it is turning out to carry more problems that solutions. Hence, it would be wise to keep tabs on the feedback from other folks who may have upgraded to it before proceeding.

Back in September, issues surrounding unresponsive upgrade screens came out which practically served as a precaution for folks planning to update to the latest iOS.

iOS 9.0.2 is already out which was meant to fix issues, which Apple lists as:

  • Fixes an issue with the setting to turn on or off app cellular data usage
  • Resolves an issue that prevented iMessage activation for some users
  • Resolves an issue where an iCloud backup could be interrupted after starting a manual backup
  • Fixes an issue where the screen could incorrectly rotate when receiving notifications
  • Improves the stability of Podcasts

Should you apply the patch? For the ones encountering problems with the iOS 9 or 9.0.1, well, it wouldn't hurt to try.
