iOS 9.3 news: What does Apple's latest mobile OS version have to offer?

Along with the iPhone SE, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, and Apple Watch accessories, Apple also released their latest mobile operating system version, the iOS 9.3. The said version contains new features and several improvements to provide a better user experience with iOS devices.

"A better experience every day. And night," as Apple stated on the iOS 9.3 webpage. "This latest iOS release adds numerous innovations to the world's most advanced mobile operating system. There are improvements to a wide range of apps, along with great new additions to CarPlay. iOS 9.3 may even help you get a good night's sleep. And you'll find a preview of new features that will make using iPad in schools easier and better for students and admins."

Night Shift is a feature that lets iOS devices automatically adjust the screen's blue light during nighttime. The device tries to change the bright colors on the display to much warmer hues when it is time to get some shuteye, while normal screen colors will be turned back on in the morning. It is said that circadian rhythms are greatly affected by bright lights, which makes it harder to fall asleep.

Notes can now be secured via a fingerprint lock or with a password. Additionally, notes can now be sorted according to different categories such as alphabetically, by date created or by date modified.

News information can now be tailored to a user's preference and interests. Additionally, videos can now be watched on the news feed, no need to click the actual news story, while a landscape view is now possible on an iPhone.

The Health app dashboard has also been revamped to provide more information at a glance. Third-party health apps will also be easier to find compared to before. A slider menu is now available that contains the more important health information such as weight, workouts and sleep.

CarPlay's features are also enhanced on the latest iOS version. The "New and For You" feature now offers a more personalized selection of music, and is based on the inclination of each user. The Map's "Nearby" feature provides a much quicker access to gas stations, restaurants, parking, coffee shops and more.

Lastly, iPads used in educational institutions will have an app called "Classroom." This particular app will be able to deliver lesson plans coming from the teacher as well as student development tracking. Multiple students can now login on a single iPad with their respective login IDs so that their progress will be saved individually.

The iOS 9.3 has started rolling out to eligible devices.
