iOS 9.1,9.2.1, 9.3 jailbreak update: Still no iOS 9.2.1 jailbreak while community waits for iOS 9.3

The iOS jailbreak community is still hoping for the version 9.2.1 jailbreak tool, but many would agree that this may never happen after all. However, hopes were high for iOS 9.3 jailbreak as soon as Apple released the iOS version.

For the meantime, the Pangu team released their iOS 9.1 jailbreak tool for devices still using iOS version 9.1, which are not that many.

A big portion of iOS devices being used nowadays have iOS version 9.2.1 installed. Thus many are waiting for its jailbreak tool counterpart. That, however, still did not deter the Pangu team from releasing what they have finished, the 9.1 jailbreak.

The announcement was made on Twitter last March 11. The tweet says, "Pangu9 V1.3.0(Win) V1.1.0(Mac) now support iOS 9.1 for all 64bit devices."

They also thanked Lokihardt for helping them out with the 9.1 jailbreak tool. The security researcher figured out the exploit, which was patched up in iOS 9.2.

Another post came in that same day about the announcement of an Apple TV jailbreak, but it will mostly benefit technically inclined ones. It says, "We will release jb for Apple TV4(9.0.x) next week which only has SSH access. It's mainly for security researchers and jailbreak developers."

The creation of jailbreaking tools started to subside when Apple released iOS 9. The community also sees that it will decline further in the future, especially now that one of the circulating rumors regarding the next generation of the iPhone is that it would be unhackable.

According to the last set of rumors, an iOS 9.3 jailbreak is almost ready. The jailbreak team is just waiting for the final release of the said version from the Cupertino tech giant, then it is expected that it will be followed shortly by the tool.

Meanwhile, when two jailbreakers claimed to have jailbroken earlier beta versions of the iOS 9.3, the community clamored for its code to be released to other teams for a better success rate for future iOS versions. However, it failed to materialize.

iOs 9.3 is expected to be released at the upcoming Apple event this March.
