iOS 10 jailbreak Pangu release date, features, news: Software to come too late?

It looks like it will take a while before Chinese jailbreak development team Pangu will come out with the long-awaited iOS 10 jailbreak to the point that it may be too late.

Almost three months after the iOS 10 was released, Pangu remains silent about the status of the jailbreak tool, which they announced back in July at the Mobile Security Conference (MOSEC) 2016.

Ever since they showed off a working jailbreak for the first beta of iOS 10, Pangu has not provided an update on the iOS 10 jailbreak, which had many thinking that it might not see the light of day at all.

After all, Apple has become serious in quashing jailbreaking. Its software updates are equipped with tweaks to topple any jailbreaks installed on a device being updated.

Some think history is repeating itself as Pangu might release the jailbreak software too late, and not many users will be able to use it. This is what happened with the iOS 9.1 jailbreak was released early this year.

It was pushed out at a time when Apple is deep into the rollout of the iOS 9.3 update. By that time, many users have already upgraded to the new software.

The same appears to be happening with the iOS 10 jailbreak. In order for jailbreakers to use the software, they should not upgrade to the iOS 10.

At the moment, Apple is working, and very quickly at that, on the iOS 10.2 with the final form expected to come out in the first week of December.

There are rumors going around that Pangu is waiting for the said software update to be rolled out before they roll out their jailbreak.

It is said that it will arrive by Christmas. Whether it will be a jailbreak for the iOS 10 or the iOS 10.2 remains to be seen, though. It is important to note that these reports are yet to be corroborated.
