'Insurgent' movie update: New movie clip shows Tris is 'The One'

"She is The One." That is what the new movie clip for "Insurgent" highlights. There is a "Matrix" Neo-feel to the entire 60-second video, somewhat foretelling of what Tris' destiny really is.

The new "Insurgent" ad debuted at the Super Bowl XLIX and it is awesome. Although there isn't much of a story to it, it is such a visual spectacle to see.

In the clip, Tris (Shailene Woodley) is confined in a glass room. She then breaks out of the glass and lunges at Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet). When she is about to touch her enemy, Jeanine and the entire building dissolved into particles. It sends Tris crashing down to the city, alongside buildings exploding and dissolving into particles, too.

What could this be? It is pretty impossible for that to happen in real-life and Tris won't survive that fall. According to Daily Mail, it could just be a community simulation.

"Insurgent" is the second book written by Veronica Roth. The first in the trilogy is titled "Divergent," while the third book is "Allegiant."

In this movie, Tris, together with Four (Theo James) go to Chicago to escape their Erudite enemies. There, she tries to figure out what her parents died for and what it takes to protect that. Simply put, she is on a journey to discover who she really is and how she can change the present world. The two seek help from the other side. However, she also has to battle her own inner demons in the process.

Expectations for the movie runs high. "Divergent" did great in the box office, raking in $150 million domestically. For "Insurgent," the forecast is around $139 million, which will really depend on how Lionsgate will promote the movie further. Releasing the ad as a Superbowl commercial gave the movie a huge boost in exposure. If Lionsgate continues this marketing move, "Insurgent" may just surpass "Divergent" in the box office.

"Insurgent" hits theaters on March 20.
