A lot of fans of the upcoming DC-based fighting game "Injustice 2" got excited after a Tweet from Ed Boon — creative director for NetherRealm Studios — alluded to the possible inclusion of several "Watchmen" characters to the game's roster.

According to Game Rant, lately the creative director has been in open communication with the game's growing fanbase in order to gather more information about the characters they want to be included to the "Injustice 2" game's roster.

Some of the most recent playable characters that could be possibly added to the game as downloadable content (DLC) are Sub-Zero and Spawn due to the overwhelming results of his Twitter polls. With this, fans are celebrating the fact that their favorite "Mortal Kombat" character as well as the famous comic book anti-hero will be joining the upcoming game.

Right now, fans are bracing themselves for even more excitement as Boon is opening the possibilities of getting more DLC characters from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons's graphic novel "Watchmen." Of course, the confirmation is yet to be made, but it seems like the creative director is still trying to measure up the response from his audience via a not-so-subtle poll he posted on Twitter.

A lot of fans would definitely want to see Dr. Manhattan duke it out with Superman or maybe even have Silk Specter get in a one-on-one fight with Wonder Woman, as the sight can only be described as glorious, to say the least. Regardless, it would not make sense for the "Watchmen" characters to be in the game itself, but it is possible that they will become available as future DLC guest characters.

Meanwhile, Game N Guide reports that the "Injustice 2" game will have a lot of downloadable content packs and that they will be aggressively released. Regardless, once the game is released next year, possibly around the first quarter, it can be played on the PS4 and Xbox One platforms.
