At first glance, the new iMac seems much like the ones of old. However, a hands-on on the latest iMac will reveal that the changes were made actually on the display, the resolution (5120x2880 pixels to which is now seven times the number of pixels on screen compared to 1080p full HD TV screens.
The iMac is still molded in the same way, a slim aluminum frame and a curved foot style stand that proudly displays the familiar Apple logo. However with a larger 27-inch screen aimed at delivering crisp and sharp resolution which brings in to mind the quality of display modern smartphones and tablets have to date.
With the high-resolution display capability, photo and video editing as well as gaming has just become better. On the matter of how it is able to display the proper or maximum resolution, the iMac automatically does so when it detects the actual content set to be displayed on screen.

With regards to pricing, the base model of the new iMac with retina 5K display at default will cost about £1,999, £550 more than the iMacs without retina display. From that starting price of the base model, the cost will incrementally increase depending on the specifications. The top model reportedly carries a price tag of £3,519.
While the price for the iMac with retina 5K display seems to be a heavy price to pay, such is amply justified with its fantastic screen which users will eventually admit is worth every penny.
