Although Nina Dobrev is out of "The Vampire Diaries," where she starred as heroine Elena Gilbert for six seasons, there are still reports that somehow rope her back into the CW supernatural drama. Just recently, Ian Somerhalder who plays Damon in the series, opened up about Dobrev's exit.

In an interview with Variety, the actor revealed that just like everyone, he thought things are going to be different with the actress's character out of the picture. However, Somerhalder realized that the show still managed to look good even without one of the key characters around.

The actor particularly gushed about episode 10 of the show. "The way the story was put together ... every artisan from set to producers to wardrobe to everyone was just so on-point," the actor said. He added that it was "so well-executed that it's worthy of being submitted for things."

According to reports, Somerhalder and co-star Paul Wesley believe that Dobrev's exit did not do damage as some expected. In fact, they apparently think that it allowed the show to focus on what the show really is about, which is the bond between their characters Damon and Stefan Salvatore.

Meanwhile, Dobrev is as far away as she can be when it comes to reports involving the show. At the moment, the 26-year-old celeb is busy with her upcoming romantic comedy film "Crash Pad." The star has been treating fans with glimpses of the movie via her social media accounts when she has spare time on set.

In the past few weeks, Dobrev shared photos of herself wearing bunch different wigs. In the first one, she dons a ginger pixie cut. The following week, she posted a photo that showcases the former "The Vampire Diaries" star in a unicorn bob look.

Her latest wig splurge has the celeb rocking a do that she said was reminiscent to that of presidential candidate Donald Trump. She corrected herself and emphasized that her look really is inspired by her fellow "Crash Pad" star Thomas Haden Church. Co-starring Dobrev in the rom-com film is Domhnall Gleeson and Christina Applegate.
