The Huawei P9 smartphone is anticipated to be launched on March 9. An announcement came up last week showing the said date and the place, Berlin, Germany. Also, the word "beer" is in the announcement.
Weibo, the Chinese counterpart of Facebook, seems to have posted the announcement first.
The P9 is the rumored 2016 flagship phone of Huawei and is apparently sporting a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1080p. It is speculated to be loaded with the octa-core Kirin 950 processor with a Mali-T880 GPU, 3 or 4 GB RAM, 32 or 64 GB internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD slot. It is also expected to house a 3,000 mAh battery, fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C port.
Several actual photos of the Huawei P9 surfaced on Venture Beat a couple of days ago, and the website claims that they have gloriously held the highly rumored smartphone.
According to the report, there will be four models available for the P9 series. The regular P9 has 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and 3,900 mAh battery. The rumored specs of the phone are almost dead-on with this version.
The other rumored models are the P9 Lite, a more budget-friendly version; the P9 Max; and an unknown higher-configuration P9. The P9 Max is rumored to have a 6.2-inch screen that offers a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution, along with a 4GB memory, 64GB internal storage, micoSD slot, 20MP main camera that can take 2060p videos @30 fps, and a 5MP front-facing camera. It is also said to be loaded with the HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset, as GSMArena reported.
Another talked-about feature of the P9 is its dual camera, which is said to be a pair of 12-MP main cameras complete with Leica-made lenses. The latest set of images also seems to confirm the accuracy of the rendered images that surfaced before the Mobile World Congress took place.
