After releasing its flagship, the One M9, HTC is said to be working on bringing out an all new top-of-the-line handset to India. The device, called the HTC One ME9, was spotted in an import listing.

The listing shows that on May 8, 1,400 dummy units of the aforementioned device, which was previously dubbed as the One M9e, arrived in the country. There are two entries in the listing that are presumed to represent the color options that will be available. The units' arrival in the country suggests that it won't be long before the device, which is touted to be HTC's economical take on the HTC One M9 Plus, becomes available for users in India.

Although patterned after the One M9 Plus, it will reportedly get a polycarbonate back instead of a metal shell. Its plastic armor is one reason for its lower price. However, the smartphone will keep the 5.2-inch Quad HD display, which renders an impressive 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.

The HTC One ME9 is also expected to feature 3 GB of RAM, which will complement the Mediatek MT6795 chipset nicely. Meanwhile, a 20-megapixel primary shooter will make it into the handset although the duo camera setup in the HTC One M9 Plus has been forgone.

The rest of the specs are still concealed, at least until HTC makes the device official or more leaks find their way to the Web. The pricing for the upcoming device still remains a mystery.

And although it is still unclear when the handset will be made officially available in India, it is expected that the wait won't be that long. Apart from the country, there is still no way of knowing which locations the HTC One ME9 will be released.
