HP has recently unveiled their premium offering for a Chrome OS laptop, the Chromebook 13. As the company says, "is not your kids' Chromebook."

The HP Chromebook 13 is encased in an anodized aluminum chassis that offers a premium and professional look. There are plastic portions, but was put for accents purposes only. The new generations Chrome OS laptop also offers a very low profile, 12.9 mm, which is roughly half an inch thin and weighs 2.86 pounds. The keyboard is backlit, which, aside from adding more to its look, also provides a reason to use the laptop on dimly lit places.

HP is offering several configurations for their new Chrome OS laptop, for the processors, from Pentium up to 6th Generation Intel Core m3, m5 and m7 while memory starts at 4 GB PDD3, but can be upgraded up to 16 GB. Internal storage is only offered in a single capacity, 32 GB SSD.

As the name implies, the screen is at 13.3-inches that offers a 3200 x 1800 QHD screen resolution, a battery life that can last up to 11.5 hours, and Bang & Olufsen Play speakers. It also comes with two USB Type C ports, a microSD card reader, and a 780p HP TrueVision web camera. No display port is available, but an HP Elite USB-C Docking station is available which gives an option to connect two Full HD displays.

The price for the HP Chromebook 13 starts at US$499. This comes with a 1.5 GHz dual- core Intel Pentium 4405Y and 4 GB RAM. The 900 MHz Intel Core m3-6Y30 variant is at US$599, while the 1.1 GHz Intel Core m5-6Y57 with 8 GB RAM model starts at US$819. The highest processor available is the 1.2 GHz Intel Core m7-6Y75 with 16 GB RAM, comes in at US$1,029.

TechCrunch added that shipment will start by May.
