Fans will have to wait a longer time for the premiere of season 3 of thriller series "Hannibal," but passing time is not so backbreaking as details about the show sprout here and there. As the people behind the show make headway in the production, rumors are suggesting that a new actor is joining the mix in the person of Glenn Fleshler.
Fleshler's role in the psychological horror series is not something new to him. In fact, it will feel much like another round of "True Detective." In the aforementioned series, the actor played the role of Errol Childress, the odd lawn-mowing murderer who everybody knows as the spaghetti monster. Latino Post is confident that Fleshler will be a great addition to the "Hannibal" mix due to the fact that his character in the series is said to be much stranger than Childress.
In "Hannibal," viewers will come to know him as Cordell, the personal doctor (some say nurse) to the disfigured and pedophilic meat market mogul Mason Verger. TV Line's Michael Ausiello reported that the character is someone who cares a lot about his work but he just "might be as sadistic as his boss." Adjectives associated with the character include quiet, intelligent and creepy. The last one, however, seems to be Cordell's most accurate and defining quality. Although he can be rather "attentive and gentle" to Verger, his creepiness just stands out. Latino Post made mention of the "Hannibal" novels, where Cordell is depicted as Verger's personal doctor as well as his unofficial spokesperson after Hannibal convinced Cordell's boss to shred his own face with a piece of glass. Paste Magazine also mentioned how the character loves to spend time with Verger's trained, flesh-eating pigs.
"The Hobbit" actor Richard Armitage will join the "Hannibal" ensemble as serial killer Francis Dolarhyde, who is also called "The Tooth Fairy." In addition, "True Blood" actress Rutine Wesley will assume the role of Reba McClane, a blind woman who is associated with the murderer.
"Hannibal" is set to return this summer but a specific release date is yet to be determined.
