GTA 5 PC system requirements unconfirmed; release date set for January 27

GTA V Rockstar Games

The long wait for Grand Theft Auto fans will be almost over. The PC Version of Grand Theft Auto V is all set to be released by January 27, 2015. This of course does not include possible changes that could come along the way but with a few more weeks to go, anything can happen.

But the thing is, what would be the PC requirements? What would be the required specs so that potential gamers could be prepared once it does come out? With a little over three weeks to go, some are becoming apprehensive on whether GTA V for the PC will truly be out.

The official requirements have yet to be released and all gamers have to rely on at the moment are these unconfirmed specs from WCCF Tech. Here are the specs listed on that site:

Minimum PC Specifications for GTA V:

  • CPU: Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66GHz or Phenom II X2 545
  • GPU: GeForce GT 530
  • RAM: 4GB
  • OS: Windows 7,8,8.1 64bit
  • HDD Space: 20GB

Those are the specs for people who want to know if their current PC configuration can handle it. But of course many would want optimum graphics and game play. Hence, if you are one of them, here are the recommended specs.

  • CPU Core i5-2500T 2.3GHz or Phenom II X4 975
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 480 or Radeon HD 6970
  • RAM: 6GB
  • OS: Windows 7,8,8.1 64bit
  • HDD Space: 20GB

If you will notice, the game seems to require high graphic requirements. Apparently such is to be expected from the in-game graphics that most games come with nowadays, GTA V of which is no different.

Now before you go on and checking your computer specs or even decide to upgrade abruptly, allow us to reiterate – these aren't official. Rockstar has not announced any confirmation (at least just yet) so refrain from doing anything or wasting dough.

With about three weeks to go, Rockstar may eventually release them before the game is actually made available. Well they should! What is the sense of announcing a release date if there are no official specs to prepare your PC with?
