'GTA 5 Online' Heists: 2015 release date finally confirmed by Rockstar

Rockstar Games has finally put all the Heists-related rumors to rest. In a teaser put up in their official newswire, the game developer assured that "GTA Online Heists are coming early in 2015," and it calls for four players to team up and collectively carry out the illegal in Los Santos and Blaine County.

To shed light to the setbacks that pushed the DLC further away from its previously announced rollout, Euro Gamer shared the statement made by Rockstar Mission Designer Imran Sarwar in his interview with IGN.

"Our initial attempts at Heists turned out to be a lot of fun for one or two players while other players were getting left on the sidelines," Sarwar explained.

With only half of the felon group getting all the fun, Rockstar had to figure out something that all four players will enjoy.

"We never want to have to move a date but if something is delayed, it's because it's not at the level we expect of ourselves. And while we're not there yet, we're getting close and Heists will be ready early in 2015," Sarwar added.

Heists will provide players 20 missions that measure 20 hours of gameplay. A team of four players of Rank 12 or higher will get to use Heists. Rewards will be given out for thriving in the operations, and having a great leader is paramount. The head of the crew lays out the plan after Lester designates the mission. He will then arrange the squad and share out the functions. He is also in charge with apportioning cuts to each member of the group and fronting cash whenever it is needed. To perpetrate the grand missions, the crew could do with a pad that can accommodate them.

"Leading a heist requires owning a high-end apartment so that you have a room available to set up the planning board. From there you'll be able to launch missions as the leader, starting with the prep work and building up to the score itself," Sarwar explained.

The leader's tasks also involve having to decide on the garb they will throw on before commencing any misdemeanor in the crime-laden city.

"These will require tight communication and coordination, with players taking on specified roles at each point to accomplish multiple objectives on the way to each Heists' epic finale. Featuring new gameplay, new vehicles, new weapons, new clothing and much more," Rockstar stated.
