'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 episode 9 spoilers: Jo to rescue Alex from prison? Bailey to go for Minnick or Richard?

A promotional still from the "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 winter finale, "You Haven't Done Nothin'" ABC

The winter finale (episode 9) of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will see Alex (Justin Chambers) and Richard (James Pickens Jr.) no longer in the dark of the important things.

In the episode, "You Haven't Done Nothin,'" Alex will finally learn the reason Jo (Camilla Luddington) has always denied his marriage proposals.

The promo for the "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 winter finale shows that Jo will finally confess to Alex that she is, from the very beginning, married to an abusive man who threatens her life if she divorced him.

The synopsis of the instalment teases that Alex makes the most of his last day as a free man and does so by making a big decision that will have life-changing consequences.

But before his day of walking the hallways of Grey Sloan comes to a tragic end, Jo will drop the bombshell in the "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 winter finale that she has been keeping for years.

As fans know, she already revealed this to DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) last season when she was drunk on the same night he was beaten up by Alex.

Should Alex do some jail time by the end of the episode, knowing this might make his punishment a lot harder for him to take. However, Jo might testify at the trial, which could help Alex become free.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 episode 9 will also see Richard finally question the greater presence of Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominczyk) in the hospital.

This means that Bailey (Chandra Wilson) will face the dreaded decision of choosing between the agent of change or her mentor, who helped her get to where she is now.

Bailey could only keep this a secret for so long as she will inevitably have to face this situation either way. It looks like that time will come in the winter finale.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 episode 9, "You Haven't Done Nothin,'" airs Thursday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
