'Grey's Anatomy' season 11 spoilers: Fans advised to stock up on tissue and tequila

The mid-season finale of "Grey's Anatomy" left everyone in shock — emotional shock, that is. There were so many heart-gripping storylines that it can really make a fan go crazy thinking about what's going to happen next. Actresses Jessica Capshaw and Camlla Luddington gives a heads up and says that there's more emotional stuff coming.

Eleven seasons in, "Grey's Anatomy" is still doing what it does best, making viewers cry. And that is what's going to happen when the show returns next week. Even the cast wants viewers to be prepared for what's to come.

"There's such huge stuff coming! And it's so top secret we can't even tell you who it involves," Capshaw told TV Line. She also added that fans will need to stock up on tissues.

"See, I've been advising tequila ... But only the good stuff. I have also been saying – and I might need to patent this idea — that you need to get an iPhone-like cover for your flat-screen TV, because you're going to be throwing stuff," Luddington said.

She added, "At the table read, people were crying. ... There's no relaxing. There's no calm before the storm. It's just storm. All storm, all the time."

Before the winter hiatus, there were three huge storms the characters were trying to survive in, and these will continue when the show returns. The first is Jackson and April's baby. In season 8, it was revealed that the baby has Brittle Bone Disease and newborns can only live for a short period of time, a number of days to weeks to be exact.

The next is Derek and Meredith's relationship problems. Derek gave up the job offer in D.C., but that didn't make things better for the couple. And now, Derek has been re-offered the job. In the middle of a heated argument, Meredith told Derek to accept that job and Derek did. Meredith is so angry that Derek's first priority is his career as opposed to their family.

Elsewhere, Dr. Herman only has six months to live, but there's a ray of hope in Amelia. She might cure the doctor from an inoperable brain tumor. Actress Caterina Scorsone revealed to E! Online that Amelia will take on the case.

"She is hammering away at it and drawing on all of her creativity and resources and all of the technological resources available nowadays to attack this tumor," Scorsone said.

"Grey's Anatomy" returns with episode 9 on Jan. 29 on ABC.
