Nexus 6 release date pushed back to December?

Google Nexus 6 pre-order will officially open this week and waiting fans will surely flock the sellers to place their orders and be one of the first to get their hands on the new Nexus smartphone.

But although the pre-order period will finally start on Oct. 29, Google has not revealed the concrete shipping date of its new handset. With little update from the company, rumors have started to surface that consumers should anticipate a delay on the delivery date of the device due to limited supply of the handset.

It is still not clear when the Google Nexus 6 will hit other major international markets. However, MoDaCo's Paul O'Brien tweeted that buyers in the U.K. may have to wait longer than expected to get their hands on the new smartphone.

"Think you're getting a Nexus 6 in the U.K. before December? Think again!" O'Brien posted on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Nexus 9 seems to be facing some supply issues as Amazon U.K. listed Dec. 15 as the delivery date for the tablet. There are speculations that Google will prioritize Google Play store customers over those of other retailers'.

Many customers have chosen to place their orders in Amazon to take advantage of the retailer's next day delivery. However, since there is reportedly a delay with the shipping, some buyers are expected to pull out their orders.

Google Nexus 6 is available off-contract through carriers, retailers and the Google Play store for $649. Various retailers may offer more affordable rates with some of the carriers expected to offer the handset with no upfront price. Other merchants have yet to confirm if they will offer the new Nexus smartphone.

Google Nexus 6 boasts a 5.9-inch Quad HD screen, a 2.7 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor and will run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Google Nexus 6 is available in 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants and will come with a 13-megapixel primary camera and 2-megapixel front-facing shooter as well as 3220 mAh battery.
